In addition to the endless amount of recreational activities in and around Jackson Hole and our surrounding National Parks and forrests, there are a number of summer and activities and attractions for guets of all interests and ages. Check out all the fun there is to be had in the Village Commons right out back from Hotel Terra.

  • The Grand Teton Music Festival presents world-class concerts and symphonies almost every night of the week. Concert season runs June 30 through August 14, 2010.
  • Hotel Terra offers organized fun activities for our younger guests in Teton Village all the way to the Snake River. "It's Good To Be A Kid in Teton Village" runs from June 14th to mid-August.
  • Alive at Five: The Teton Village Association presents an evening hour of fun for all ages from 5-6 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from June 30 through Labor Day. Attractions include storytelling from The Jackson Hole Historical Society, exciting, live demonstrations from the Teton Raptor Center and outdoor performances from the Grand Teton Music Festival's String Quartet.

Grand Teton National Park:

  • Ranger led tours: Join a Grand Teton National Park ranger on a three mile roundtrip hike to Taggart Lake. 9 am, daily.*
  • Lakeshore Stroll: Learn about the geological forces that shaped the Tetons. 8 am, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.*
  • Sunrise Stroll: Enjoy early morning beauty on a walk through the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve to Phelps Lake.*
  • Building Green: Learn about the sustainable and innovative ways the Laurence S. Rockefeller Preserve was designed. Daily, 1:30 pm through Labor Day.
  • National Park Service Campfire Talks: Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday in the Gros Ventre Campground Ampitheatre.
  • Music In Nature: The Grand Teton Music Festival's String Quartet performs at the Craig Thomas Visitor Center. Each Wednesday and Saturday June 29th through July 23'rd at 3 pm.

*All hikes are available through Labor Day weekend.

Town of Jackson:

  • Jackson Hole Rodeo: An old-west classic and family favorite. Every Wednesday and Saturday through Labor Day. 8 pm.
  • The National Museum of Wildlife Art features sketches by Maurice Sendak entitled Wild New Ways. Exhibit Hangs through September 19. Open daily.
  • Jackson Hole Shootout: Every day on the town square, Monday through Saturday, the Jackson Hole Shootout Gang performs their complimentary Old West melodrama. Through Labor Day Weekend.
  • Local Jackson Hole Farmer's Market. Every Saturday on the Town Square. July 10th through Labor Day Weekend.
  • Art Fair: A Time-honored tradtion in Miller Park. Downtown Jackson. July 16-18 and August 20-22, 2010.

Touring and Wildlife Viewing in the National Parks

Between May and October Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are open to the public. You can explore these national treasures on your own or enlist an experienced tour guide to lead you to some of the best views and wildlife hideouts.

Hiking

The trails begin outside Hotel Terra and continue into some of the world's most spectacular outdoor spaces. For the novice or the most experiences mountaineer, Jackson Hole's National Park and Forest lands and preserved sanctuaries present an outdoor experience unlike any other.

Mountain Biking Adventures

Out our back door, At the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, there is a seven mile network of singletrack mountain bike trails to explore-and you can even get a head start on the Teewinot chairlift that allows you to hitch a ride with your mountain bike half way up the mountain. You may also choose to venture into wildflower rich Jackson Hole backcountry
You can rent bikes and accessories from many shops in the area and set out on your own or enlist guides to help you find your way to the right trails for you, and even provide some instruction if you're seeking it.

Cycling on the Road

Paved and dirt roads and trails throughout Jackson Hole offer breathtaking views and another excellent way to explore the area. You will enjoy riding along the National Elk Refuge Road or the extensive paved Pathways that run throughout the Jackson Hole valley. If you're up for a challenge, you can try cycling over Teton Pass!

Adventure in the Skies

Whether you choose to fly in a hot air balloon, float in a paraglider or glide along in a glider plane, delving into the big skies of Jackson Hole by air is an unforgettable and unparalleled experience.

Horseback Riding

There's no better way to experience the romance of the Old West and get deep in to the backcountry and high in the mountains than on horseback. There are many outfitters, most offering full or half day rides

Golf

Teton Pines is a full-service, semi-private championship golf course offering tee boxes of varying levels, many water features and large greens. This 18-hole course, opened in 1987, was designed by Arnold Palmer. Located just 5 miles (8 kilometres) from the Resort, the course offers a pro shop, golf instruction, club rentals, driving range and putting green.
Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Club is the valley's first full-service championship 18-hole golf course. Opened in 1963 and redesigned in 1973 by Robert Trent Jones II, it showcases some of Jackson Hole's most breathtaking Teton views. This semi-private club is consistently ranked number one in the state of Wyoming by Golf Digest magazine. Located just 20 miles from the Resort, the club offers a pro shop, golf instruction, club rentals, driving range and putting green.

Water sports

The Snake River that flows straight through the Jackson Hole valley offer both calm waters for scenic floating and a wilder canyon for whitewater excitement. High alpine lakes and ponds are hidden among the mountain peaks and have their own opportunities for one the water fun.


Whitewater rafting on the Snake River Canyon is filled with just the twists, turns, swells and eddies to create a truly thrilling experience on the river . Scenic Floats are a breathtaking, inspiring option -whether in the middle of the day or for a sunset dinner.
Jackson Hole is one of the premier Fly Fishing destinations, with the Snake River and other spectacular waterways offering access to native cutthroat trout. We draw from an abundant list of experienced guides to help you find the most awe inspiring fly fishing experience for you.
Kayaking is another exhilarating way to hit the high mountain waters of Jackson Hole.
