The Dick’s Ditch Banked Slalom is a Jackson Hole institution. Every March, charging locals and gutsy visitors head to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for the premier ski and snowboard “race” in the Tetons! Barreling through natural terrain and boosting off man-made features, the Dick’s Ditch is a mix of Chinese downhill, moguls, terrain park, and craziness. You’ll probably see carnage and yard sales as riders crash in catastrophic ways, and you’re sure to see an incredible show put on by these skiers and riders.
This year, the action has been broken up into two weekends. The skiers take center stage from Friday, March 7 through Sunday March, 9. Then, the following weekend (Friday, March 14–Sunday, March 16) is all about the snowboarders. Starting on Lupine Way and going all the way down to South Pass Traverse, the action-packed event is a sight to behold in Amphitheater Bowl!
What’s on the line? Why are these skiers and snowboarders going full-tilt down Jackson Hole? A Dick’s Ditch belt buckle will be dolled out the winner of each division and the pros are battling for prize money. More importantly, however, is a year’s worth of bragging rights!
