4 Ways (+ 1) to Celebrate New Year's Eve
If you find yourself staying at the Hotel Terra in Teton Village this week without plans for watching the ball drop on 2013 and 2014 get underway, here are a few options for ringing in the New Year.
First, the “plus one”: The NYE celebration gets started early in Teton Vilage. Friday, December 28th, the female ACDC tribute band Hell’s Belles will rock the Mangy Moose stage. This show will leave Teton Village’s ears ringing! The cover-band’s sound is on-point and the energy is off-the-charts. This is a must-see for fans of the iconic Australian rock’n’roll band!
Now, to New Year’s Eve:
Wrap up your day on the hill with a beer and some Americana/roots-rock/country-blues music with renowned quartet, Screen Door Porch at The Handle Bar in Teton Village. The free show is from 3 to 6 pm and is open to all-ages.
Every year, the staff of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort ski down Apres-Vous with torches in-hand to commemorate the previous year and kickoff of the new year, and the annual Torchlight Parade will take place again on New Year’s Eve at 6 pm.
Directly following the Torchlight Parade will be a Fireworks Show for the ages. The mountain will light up underneath the NYE fireworks!
If you don’t have tickets to the sold-out Gondi-Gala at Couloir Restaurant, there are many other options in Jackson Hole. At the top of the list is the March Forth Marching Band show. This high-energy, 20 piece, band will inspire dancing for even those with two left feet. “The show will take you on a journey from the swamps of Louisiana to the gypsy camps of eastern Europe to the African jungle by way of Brazil, echoing the deepest grooves of American funk, rock, and jazz then boiling it all together in cinematic fashion with high-stepping stilt-acrobatics and dazzling dancer”. A fantastical way to ring in the New Year. 10 pm at the Pink Garter Theatre.
